Highlights from the May 12, 2008 Council Meeting

• T-shirt and cap sales from the National Land and Range Judging competition were a huge success.  The council voted to sponsor jackets for the winning team and high individual at each competition.  We are going to see if the Soil Scientists Society wants to co-sponsor those, if not, we'll go it alone.
• The 2008 State Meeting will be held on June 19-20, 2008 in Ardmore and at the Noble Foundation.  Family night will be at the Gene Autry Museum.  Registration will be $15.00 and an additional cost for attendance at the family night $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children of all ages.
• Dwayne Johnson from the SWCS National Headquarters spoke about the upcoming regional conference in Oklahoma City (see the link on the front page).  He is expecting 50 to 55 poster presentations.  There will be 5 lead speakers in all general sessions.  Our chapter is going to help with registration and maybe some additional duties as they become known.  This will be held at the Clarion on I-40 and Meridian.
